What makes you think an independent jeweler like myself can't compete with “Blue Nile” or any big Internet diamond source?
I've been selling diamonds for almost 30 years. I have some of the same sources that these big internetters have. In fact, just this year one of my suppliers became a sight holder from Debeers. This eliminates the middle-man completely.
Do some comparable shopping, and see if an independent jeweler can't only meet or beat an internet price, but give you immediate hands on, feel, touch and ask questions that get straight answers. You don't have to be a diamond expert if you have an expert diamond guide like those found at Bell's.
